FAQs / Help

How do I use my ticket?

You will be emailed an order confirmation that will include your unique Booking Reference Number and a barcode that also contains this number. Please use this to check in at the ticket office at the bottom of the pier on arrival, as your tickets will need to be redeemed before getting on the ferry.

Where does the ferry depart from?

The ferry departs from Kennedy pier, Cobh.  The ferry must leave on time, please arrive at the pier at least 10 minutes before departure and allow plenty time for parking and walking to the ferry.  No refunds for late arrival.

Where can I park?

There is no parking at Kennedy pier. Free parking is available at the Five Foot Way car park. Please allow at least 30 minutes to park up and walk to our pier from that location. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled departure.

How long will I be on the island?

Return ferries are typically 3 1/2 hours after departure, for example, the 12pm ferry has a return at 3.30pm.  This gives time for the ferry journey, guided tour, time to self explore, and visit to the café and gift shop.

Alternative tour options such as the 'After Dark' tours will have different schedules.

Do you issue refunds?

No refunds, later sailings, or change of date can be issued to late arrivals who miss their sailing.  Changes must be made at least 48 hours before your purchased sailing day and time.

Refunds for bad weather are only made when a sailing is cancelled by Spike Island Tours. In this scenario, you will be refunded automatically.

Is there wheelchair access?

Yes, the ferry is wheelchair accessible.

On the island there is a slightly steep, paved incline up to the fort.

Three of the eleven attractions in the fort are inaccessible for wheelchairs.

Can I purchase a ticket at your kiosk or on the day?

Yes, if there are spaces available you can book on the day, but if all sailings are full, then you cannot.

We highly recommend advance online booking during the summer months to avoid disappointment.
